I stopped buying books from Apple for the same reason I don’t buy music from Apple.

I’m much more confident my Amazon content will be able to go with me when I change, upgrade or move devices.

Apple’s desktop software circa 1990s was different; more open. Apple as underdog worked hard to ensure files created with their software would open on Windows and that Windows files would open on a Mac.

The Apple of today is a closed ecosystem.
